Château Angludet produces great red wines expressing a lot of finesse, elegance and aromatic complexity typical of the AOC Margaux.
The wines of Château Angludet
The age of the vines plays an important role in the difference between the two wines. Young vines, often compared to young adults, will need production experience to understand how to react to the season as well as certain climatic conditions. Visually, we recognize a young vine by the size of its trunk.
The thinner it is, the younger the vines, and conversely, the larger the trunk, the older the vines. Upon tasting, a young wine shows fiery spirit and very intense aromatic expression. Young vines will tend to develop faster. The peak of wine will be reached more quickly than wine produced by vines of an older age.
The older vines have acquired a more developed maturity of production. Indeed, the bunches of grapes will be produced in smaller quantities. Beyond 15 years of age, the vines are more thoughtful and are also more precise in their production. This vine is often compared to an adult, to a wise man who knows how to analyze a situation and who will choose to produce little but better. The older the vine, the less it produces. For this reason, Château Angludet decides to keep an average age of 30 years and rotates between plots in order to be able to remove one hectare every 5 years or so.
Thus, we respect a stability of production between our two wines.
” Sometimes, when I taste certain lots, I get goose bumps. It is no longer at the level of saying whether the wine is good or not, it gives us inexplicable sensations. That’s what I am looking for in Angludet wines. ”
